Bluetooth in a car used to be a joke to me. It was a meaningless bell and/or whistle. Now, it's practically the only thing I care about when I rent a car. Does it have wheels and an engine? Who cares? Where's my Bluetooth!? The reason for this shift in perspective is that smartphones and their Bluetooth radios are mighty capable these days. I can pair my Android phone with the car's radio, have it playing my music and giving me turn-by-turn directions (attenuating the radio when it does) at the same time, and if a call comes in, I can just answer it.
