I feel like I have to reboot my Windows PC all the time, either because I've installed new software or because Windows is always updating. This wouldn't be a huge deal, but my computer takes a while to reboot. Anything I can do to avoid the hassle? More »

Make shared folder in VirtualBox permanently available

prepare:
http://wvarner.blogspot.com/2008/05/installing-virtualbox-guest-additions.html


sudo mkdir /mnt/my_folder
sudo nano /etc/rc.local

Add line:

mount -t vboxsf -w -o uid=1000,gid=1000 my_shared_folder_name /mnt/my_folder

Save, quit. Reboot:

sudo reboot
