Engadget is showing off a new Playstation Vita ready to be pre-ordered at Best Buy, but in the Great White North. The dates indicate a March 2012 release. Meanwhile, the UK can expect the console to drop on October 28. More »

The Story Behind the Story of the 1.7 Release

Every Joomla! release has its moments of drama, tension, and transcendence. Inside the Joomla! Bug Squad in the run up to the release is always a flurry of intense activity. 1.7 was no different in that.

While most people probably know that the release of Joomla! 1.7 was a first because it was a time based released: back in January it was announced that the release of 1.7 would be in July, and the great thing is that we did it to the exact date and minute that was picked in late June.  That doesn’t mean there were no hair raising moments though!

OS X Lion Dev Preview 2 Is Here [Apple]

If you're an Apple developer, you can now download the a second developer preview release of OS X 10.7 (Lion). TechCrunch believes it's pretty close to the finished version of the operating system. Aside from sweeping bug and stability fixes, Developer Preview 2 will install on 2011 MacBook Pros and apparently has an updated version of iCal. Motorola Xoom Is $800, Comes Out February 24th [Tablets]

Best Buy has a pre-order page for the Motorola Xoom, which we're going to assume officializes the price and release date of the first best Android 3.0 tablet.
